Rev. Peter Antoci and Student Leaders

Reverend Antoci
is the Episcopal Chaplain and Vicar at the University of Maryland, College Park. He was ordained a priest for the diocese of Washington in May 2002, having finished the Anglican Studies curriculum at Virginia Theological Seminary in 2000. Originally a parishioner of St. Margaret's Church, Peter was a seminarian intern at St. John's Parish, Georgetown (2000-2001) and a chaplain intern at The National Institutes of Health (2000). In 1995 he earned a Ph.D. in Religious Studies from The Catholic University of America. His studies have focused on issues of social marginality in religious communities and texts. He has been an adjunct professor of Religious Studies at several area colleges, including the University of Maryland, Catholic University, UMBC and George Mason University. From 1990 to 1997 he worked at Jubilee Housing, Inc. in Washington D.C., first as director of development and then as executive director. From 1998-2003 he worked at The Shriver Center, UMBC as the Director of the Peaceworker Program, a graduate service-learning program for Returned Peace Corps Volunteers. Presently he is teaching biblical studies courses at the University of Maryland, as well as serving on the Collegia Committee at St. Andrew's, College Park and on two diocesan committees (The Angus Dunn Scholarship, and the Committee on Blessings).

Karen Rowe, Music Director, is an artist and musician as well as a spiritual director and retreat leader. In addition to playing piano for the EACM Sunday evening liturgy, she plays for the Sunday morning praise service at Lincoln Congregational Temple, an historic African American church in downtown DC.  Karen has two commissioned fabric works hanging
in the Oratory at the EACM student residence and is collaborating with Kate Ransohoff of Boston on Quilt: Art to Mend the World.


Nick Wallace is a sophmore transfer student from Indian UNicersity of Pennsylvania. His Major is kinesiology and he will be playing football for Maryland in the spring. Nick was born in Virginia, but has livied in 4 states and overseas in Japan twice, as his father is a Marine officer of 24 years. Nick's Hoppies consist of playing paintball and anything and everything dealing with football!


Chris Rick is a native of Waldorf, MD. He currently serves as the Vice President of the Lutheran Student Association at the University of Maryland and is the Youth Member of the Synod Council of the Metropolitan Washington, D.C. Synod. A junior Economics and Logistics, Transportaion and Supply Chain Management double major, Chris is an avid supporter of Maryland Athletics and also enjoys playing tennis and racquetball. Chris is a driver for Shuttle-UM where he has the opportunity to interact with students from all areas of campus.

Paola M Hernandez B. I am Roman Catholic, Colombian (S.A) & hale from the Eastern Shore, MD.
I am a Criminology Criminal Justice and Psychology double degree with both Terrorism Studies and Leadership Studies  minors at UMD. I am part of UMD'S Women's Chorus and a coordinator for the UMD Partners in Print Program (part of AR*AC) I enjoy athletics particularly: soccer, and surfing. And I love basically any show/movie involving crime, doctors, law, and/or military.

Jessica Plazza is Puerto Rican and was raised in a little town called Crofton, MD! A senior at UMCP, she is a Math major and also very into language and the arts. Growing up with a love of music, she has been in many choirs in her day. Currently, she directs the choir at her home-parish, and is in the process of starting a children's choir as well. She started playing the guitar about 3 years ago, and since then it has become one of her favorite pass-times. She also enjoys dancing, reading and, of course, MATH!

Emily Aptov was born in New Jersey to a military family. She grew up in Bethesda and received her undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland in December 2006. Emily's interests include how the market system/government policy making process works in relation to providing essential services.  Today Emily is a graduate student at UMD's School of Public Policy.  She is committed to building up the communities of the metropolitan DC area.

Robert Bowman, international man of mystery?



Robert Bowman serves as the Episcopal Student Center's first Resident Director. When not directing his fellow residents, this tall, dark and handsome English graduate student spends the majority of his time camped  out in various libraries. Libraries of intrigue. Robert hails from the ancient continent of Floridia, a land once though lost. His favorite pastimes include getting speeding tickets in Alabama and wrasslin' gators.


Adrienne Hinds, First President and Ruler-For-Life of the Barbara C. Harris Fan Club



Adrienne Hinds is the President of Episcopal/Anglican Terps and the esident director of the Episcopal Student Center.  She is a senior GIS and Environmental Politics & Policy double major from Boston.


 

Brian Hutchison


Brian Hutchison was a Peer Minister for EACM from 2004 to 2006. He was a Senior psychology major, with a certificate in LGBT Studies. He enjoyed ministry with EACM as well as with his home parish in DC. Brian is now off to seminary at the Pacific School of Religion in Berkley, CA.

Aaron Langlais 


Aaron Langlais was a Peer Minister for EACM from 2003-2005. He was a senior sociology major with a focus in social psychology. He is from Cape Cod, Massachusetts where he attends St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Barnstable. Aaron is now in graduate school in Western Massachusetts.

                                               
Matt Kircher
 
 
Matt Kircher is an all-around nice guy who joined the EACM as a peer minister in Fall 2005. He is a Senior double major in business marketing and psychology. He no longer serves as a peer minister but still works around the EACM office as a bookkeeper and webmaster. Although his picture may currently be the smallest, he has a big heart.

Elyse Evans

 

Elyse Evans is a Senior Music Education major, playing clarinet in several musical ensembles on campus. In addition to Peer Ministry, she is a sister of Tau Beta Sigma, the national honorary band sorority, and is an alumna of the Howard County, Maryland 4-H Youth Development Program. Elyse graduated from Mount Hebron High School in Ellicott City, Maryland, where she grew up attending St. John's Episcopal Church.

 

 

Jenn Gehret


Jennifer Gehret
is a senior double major in biochemistry and music. In addition to EATerps she is involved in Intervarsity Christian Fellowship and University of Maryland Concert Band, playing clarinet. Her hometown is Hampstead, Maryland where she attends St. George’s Episcopal Church.

Aaron Langlais
has been a Peer Minister for EACM since the fall of 2003. He is a senior sociology major with a focus in social psychology. He is from Cape Cod, Massachusetts where he attends St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Barnstable.
